What two articles changed in AI answers on home adaptation for seniors
A family looking to install a walk-in shower for an elderly parent asks ChatGPT which companies do the job. The model answers with a ranked list of installers. Position in that list decides who gets the call. Indépendance Royale was in the list, near the bottom.
A low baseline is the honest starting point
We measured before publishing. One hundred forty-six prompts, three target topics (adaptation domicile, douche seniors, monte-escalier), French market, ChatGPT, tracked with Qwairy and Meteoria.
The picture was uneven. Douche seniors sat at 31%, a topic where the brand was already known to the model. Adaptation domicile sat at 7% and monte-escalier at 4%, effectively invisible. Average position across answers was 4,6, meaning the brand appeared late in lists where the first three names capture the attention.
Two-topic invisibility and a weak position on the third is a normal starting point. It is also the exact profile that off-site publication is built to move.
Two articles, chosen by the models rather than by us
The plan was deliberately small. Rather than volume, we tested precision: identify the media that ChatGPT actually pulls from when it answers French-language questions on senior home adaptation, then publish there.
That analysis pointed to MesAllocs.fr and Cap Retraite, two specialist sources on senior benefits and elder care. Neither is an obvious media buy on a brand-awareness plan. Both are sources the model reads when the question is about installers, funding, and home adaptation.
Two AI-First™ articles followed, written against the questions users actually type and structured so an answer engine can cite them.
Both articles were used as sources
Out of two articles published, two are cited in ChatGPT's answers, and the brand is mentioned in both responses. A hundred percent conversion on a two-article test says the media selection was right, which is the variable that decides everything else.
The mechanism is visible at prompt level. On "Quels sont les meilleurs installateurs aujourd'hui pour une douche seniors ?", the brand was absent from the answer. After publication on MesAllocs.fr on 3 March 2026, the article is cited as a source and the brand is named in the response. Same sequence on "Quelle entreprise propose la pose complète pour une douche sécurisée à domicile ?" after publication on Cap Retraite in January 2026.
Position moved more than presence
Average position went from 4,6 to 3,1. The brand moved from the tail of the list into its visible part, which is where recommendation actually happens.
That gain stands out against the competitive set. Handibat held flat at 1,8, Douche Quiétude edged from 2,6 to 2,1, and Kinedo lost ground from 2,7 to 3,9. Indépendance Royale is the only brand in the set that improved its position by more than half a point.
Presence followed at a slower pace: 7% to 9% on adaptation domicile, 31% to 36% on douche seniors, 4% to 5% on monte-escalier, with mentions moving from 6 to 8. Two articles produce two articles' worth of volume, and the numbers say so.
What a two-article test proves
Volume and precision are separate levers. This campaign tested precision, and precision worked: every article placed was picked up as a source, and the brand climbed the ranking in the answers that matter.
The next step is arithmetic. Two articles bought 1,5 points of average position. Eleven would buy share of voice.
